Diversity recognises that though people have things in common with each other they are also different in many ways. Diversity is expressed in all the visible and invisible differences between people and this can lead to differences in experiences, values, attitudes, ways of thinking, behaving, communicating and working.

WWMCRC is committed to promoting and integrating equality in every aspect of our work, ensuring we meet the requirements of staff, offenders and victims.  All people coming into contact with this company can expect to be treated with equality and fairness, regardless of their gender, gender identity, economic disadvantage, race, age, religion or belief, disability or sexual orientation. 

Equality Statement

The WWMCRC recognises its duty to play a key role inpromoting equality and valuing diversity in the wider criminal justice system. The CRC will ensure that it supports and encourages the elimination of discrimination and the promotion of equal opportunities for all.

The WWMCRC aims to ensure that no person will be treated less favourably on the grounds of colour, race, nationality, ethnic or national origin, gender, parental status, dependants, disability, age, religion or belief, trade union or political reliefs, employment status, sexual orientation, gender history, pregnancy and maternity. Furthermore, the organisation will ensure that no requirement or condition will be imposed without justification which could disadvantage indiviuals on any of the above grounds.

Equality Act 2010

We have a duty to uphold, as part of the Equality Act 2010, which obliges all agencies who provide services to the public to:

  • Eliminate unlawful discrimination, harassment and victimisation and other conduct prohibited by the Act
  • Advance equality of opportunity between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not
  • Foster good relations between people who share a protected characteristic and those who do not

We are committed to preventing discrimination in our work above and beyond the legal requirements. Our goal is to provide an environment where everyone feels valued, respected and motivated to contribute their best. In addition the WWMCRC has a specific duty to prepare, publish and measure equality objectives.
