Local Crime Community Sentence

The Local Crime Community Sentence (LCCS) project is a joint venture run by the Probation Association and the Magistrates’ Association. It is a national project which aims to engage with local communities and increase their knowledge and understanding of Community Sentences.

How does it work?

It is an opportunity for your community group to 'be the Judge', sentencing a serious crime and deciding whether the offender goes to prison or is given a Community Sentence.  You will also be able to find out more about the work of Probation and Magistrates.

LCCS is an interactive presentation given by a Magistrate and a Probation Officer.  It lasts about an hour and can be made at any time to community groups.  The presentation is free of charge - all you need to provide is the venue and we will bring everything we need with us.

How can I book a presentation?

Contact Jackie Bell, who is the local LCCS Co-ordinator, to arrange a date.
